Introduction
The genus Perrhybris comprises of a single species – viardi, which occurs in the form of 10 named subspecies found variously from Mexico to Bolivia and Paraguay.
Habitats
Pieriballia viardi breeds in rainforest and transitional cloudforest habitats at altitudes between about 100-1200m.

Males are usually seen singly, mud-puddling amidst aggregations of other Pieridae.
