The Pyrginae, popularly known as Flats or Spreadwings, are a cosmopolitan subfamily distributed across temperate and tropical habitats throughout the world. In the Americas there are 990 species.
The genus Zera contains 8 species, distributed variously from Mexico to Bolivia.
Zera hosta is distributed from Mexico to Colombia.
Habitats
This species inhabits rainforest and cloudforest at elevations between about 500-1800m.
