Introduction
The genus Thermoniphas comprises of 15 species, all found entirely in sub-Saharan Africa.
Thermoniphas micylus is a western species found from Sierra Leone to Nigeria.
Habitats
This species is found in relatively open woodland habitats including along roadsides and the edges of wide trails, at altitudes between sea level and about 600m.
Lifecycle
The lifecycle and foodplants appear to be unknown.
Adult behaviour
The adults are usually found in two’s and three’s, and commonly nectar at the flowers of daisies, marigolds and other Compositae. They commonly sit for log periods on low herbage, tilted slightly forward, and with the wings held slightly apart.
