Introduction
The genus Ticherra is closely allied to Cheritra. It comprises of a single species acte.
Ticherra acte is found in India, Tibet, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo.
Habitats
This species inhabits primary rainforest but can also be found in disturbed or secondary forest. It can be found at elevations between sea level and about 1500m.

Adult behaviour
Males are usually encountered singly, perching on foliage in dappled sunlight. Females are normally only seen in flight. Both sexes rest and feed with the wings held erect, and spend long periods at rest under the leaves of bushes or trees.
