Introduction
The Pyrginae, popularly known as Flats or Spreadwings, are a cosmopolitan subfamily distributed across temperate and tropical habitats throughout the world. In the Americas there are 990 species.
The genus Zera contains 8 species, distributed variously from Mexico to Bolivia.
Zera nolckeni is the commonest and most widely distributed member of the genus, being found from Vera Cruz in Mexico to Peru, Bolivia and east across much of Brazil.
Habitats
This is a species of disturbed evergreen and deciduous habitats between about 100-1200m.
